What happens if my flight is delayed?

If you’re being collected from Gatwick Airport, we track your flight in real time so your driver arrives once you’ve landed and cleared security and baggage reclaim.

For your taxi to Gatwick, we will collect you from your location at the agreed time unless we hear from you otherwise.

How can I contact my driver to arrange a meeting time and place?

Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll have clear contact details for your driver. If you need to get in touch, you can call or message directly to arrange meeting points or update your journey.

Are airport drop-off fees included in your pricing?

Yes. We add these to your fare so there is no unexpected surcharge on what pricing we have already agreed.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Redhill but cover Betchworth, Bletchingley, Chipstead, Godstone, Horley, Leigh, Merstham, Nutfield, Reigate, Outwood, South Godstone, Tadworth + many more!

Do I have to pre-book my journey?

Yes. Our service is only available if you have pre-booked. You can book through this website or by calling us on 01737 443344.

What happens if I've left an item in one of your cars?

If you suspect you’ve left something in one of our cars, please call us on 01737 443344 and we will contact the driver to have them check the vehicle.

If we find your item, it will be returned to our office and we will contact you to either arrange collection or we can schedule a car to deliver to an address of your choice. Please note, this option would incur a standard journey fee which would be payable in cash upon delivery.

Do you allow pets in your vehicles?

Unfortunately, we only allow guide dogs or assistance dogs in our cars.

Do you provide or store child car seats and booster seats?

Unfortunately, we do not provide or store child car seats or booster seats. If your child requires one, you must bring your own and take it with you when you leave the vehicle, including on airport transfers. We cannot retain child seats for your return journey.

Are your private hire taxis clean?

We operate a strict no smoking, no vaping, no food & drink policy in all of our taxis to ensure the comfort of all passengers.

How long will your driver wait before cancelling a pickup?

We typically wait 10 minutes after your allotted pickup time before cancelling a booking.

What do I do if my private hire taxi is late?

We pride ourselves at being on time for all pickups but, on the rare occasions we are late, you should call us on 01737 443344 and we will contact your driver to locate them and provide you with a revised time of arrival.

What happens if I don't have enough cash to cover my fare?

We operate on a no-pay, no-ride basis so you must ensure you have sufficient funds to pay your driver for the entire journey.

What is your cancellation policy?

Customers may cancel a booking by contacting A&L Cars Private Hire Ltd by telephone or through any other cancellation method made available by us.

A cancellation fee of up to 25% of the booked journey fare may be charged where a booking is cancelled after it has been accepted and resources have already been allocated to the journey.

Depending on the circumstances, A&L Cars may waive the cancellation fee and issue a full refund.

The cancellation charge will therefore not necessarily apply to every cancellation. Where appropriate, our operator will determine whether the booking qualifies for a full refund or whether the 25% cancellation fee applies.

A booking may be treated as a no-show where the driver has arrived at the confirmed pickup location, has waited for at least 10 minutes, and the passenger cannot be located or contacted and does not attend the vehicle. Where a booking is treated as a no-show, 100% of the booked journey fare may be charged.

For an ASAP booking, the no-show charge will only apply where the driver has arrived within 10 minutes of being assigned the booking.

For a pre-booked journey, the no-show charge will only apply where the driver arrives no later than 5 minutes after the requested pickup time.

Where A&L Cars or the assigned driver is significantly late, or where the journey cannot be provided due to circumstances attributable to A&L Cars, the customer will not be charged a cancellation or no-show fee.

Any applicable cancellation or no-show fee may be deducted from a prepaid amount or charged to the payment method used or authorised for the booking, subject to the customer’s booking terms.

Who can I speak to in case I have a complaint?

Our customers are our priority and we will do our utmost to resolve any issues that may arise when you use our services. You can call us on 01737 443344 and we will be more than happy to discuss your complaint.
