New Airport Drop Off Fees at Heathrow and Gatwick for 2026
Heathrow and Gatwick Airports have both increased their terminal drop off charges for 2026. These charges apply to every vehicle using the forecourt areas to drop passengers at their departure terminal. This affects all private hire operators and taxi companies, including small independent firms like ours who provide airport transfers to Heathrow and Gatwick from the Redhill and Reigate areas.
What has changed at the airports
Heathrow Airport has increased the terminal drop off fee from £6.00 to £7.00 per vehicle. Gatwick Airport has increased their fee from £7.00 to £10.00. These charges are collected by the airports directly, and are separate from the actual fare you pay for your taxi or private hire journey. Number plate recognition cameras are used and payment must be made online or via automatic vehicle accounts.
These higher fees come on top of existing short stay car park charges for airport collections, which are also controlled by the airports rather than taxi firms.
Why our prices need to change
When Heathrow and Gatwick last increased their forecourt fees, we chose to absorb the additional costs. We know that airport travel can already be expensive and we always try to stay competitive with our airport taxi prices for Heathrow, Gatwick and other major airports.
Unfortunately, we can’t continue to follow this policy. This means that we will now need to adjust our airport transfer pricing to cover the mandatory charges set by the airports. This is not a general price rise for our service, but a simple pass through of the airport’s own fees.
Updated pricing for airport transfers
From January 2026 all journeys to and from Gatwick and Heathrow will now include the increased drop off prices.
